This past week I had the amazing opportunity to go to the Adventures In Missions campus to take the perspectives class. Perspectives is a class focused on learning about God’s global mission. It taught me so much about God’s heart for the nations throughout the entirety of scripture. There were also some very valuable lessons on cultural and strategic tips for sharing the gospel in a cross-cultural setting. The information from this course was definitely a lot to process, but the Lord was still able to teach me a lot. I feel like the things I learned through this class will be very beneficial for me as I go on the World Race. I feel as if I have a better understanding of the biblical basis for what I am doing and why I am doing it.
I also took the class with a bunch of former racers. It was super cool to be able to hang out with all of the former racers and get a little glimpse of what I’ll be doing for the next 9 months before I officially leave. Everyone I met was super awesome and very encouraging. I was able to receive a lot of advice from people who had previously experienced what I am about to experience. They shared loads of wisdom with me as well as some very useful practical tips. This experience made me even more excited about leaving for the Race than I already was. Please pray for me, as I leave very soon on this adventure.

  1. Praying for peace in your heart as you prepare to leave for the race. He will go before you and be with you wherever you go!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

  2. So glad you got to go through Perspectives! I’m a bit jealous as that’s something I wish I could have gone to! 🙏😀

My name is Clayton Haynes and I am currently a senior at Parkview High School in Atlanta, Georgia. I surrendered my life to Jesus during my junior year, and since then I have been blessed to be able to lead a house church for my high school and serve at my local church, Grace Christian Fellowship, as an intern and middle school small group leader. I am very excited to see how God will continue to move in my life as I take on the World Race this coming fall!
